Reventazon Tropical Research Station
Costa Rica
Between the years 2013 to 2021, the Reventazon Tropical Research Station sponsored projects including biodiversity studies, night vision camera work, field and soil conservation initiatives, mixed bird flock studies, and work related to maximizing biodiversity in tandem with coffee production. In the latter years, a self funded community learning center project - the Penas Blancas Community Learning Center - was carried out in tandem with the Paraiso Public Library. In addition, Rainforest Alliance Certification for the property's coffee grove was obtained. While the property owners continued to actively support Costa Rican conservation programs and birding activities, RTRS ceased operation in early 2022.
